Coffee of the week - #06-16

March 17, 2016

Easter is saved by Koppi and the fantastic coffee they have roasted for us. Read more about it below!

The cultivar is Villa Sarchi for the Costa RIca origin coffee. Villa Sarchi is a natural dwarf mutation of the bourbon variety and is quite similar to caturra and pacas. The producer, Antonio Barrantes won the cup of excellence in 2015, so there should be no doubt this is a fantastic coffee. Lourde de Naranjo is an area in the West Valley region, home of many of the best micro mills in Costa Rica.

The process is white honey, which means the 80-90% of the mucilage is removed before drying on raised beds. This makes a sweet tasting coffee with a full mouthfeel and hints of peach. Perfect for V60, Chemex and espresso. Make sure to bring it to the mountains or where ever you are going and introduce your friends to quality coffee.

As always, we ship to different coffees to the ones who cannot get enough of this, with good reason. This is one of the best Colombian coffees this year. The fact that Huila region grows top coffee is not new, but this one is astonishing with sweet floral taste with hints of orange. We are sure they had Easter in mind.
