Coffee of the week - #18-16

A very warm welcome to our new partner on board in our coffee wagon! Langøra Coffee Roaster is located in Stjørdal outside Trondheim. We cam across their coffee some weeks ago and have also been recommended by some of you. 

The main event is a natural Brazilian coffee, Sitio Tanque. This farm is owned by Aleci de Souza  who's been working with coffee for 25 years now, growing coffee in 6 hectares at 1400masl. This altitude is fairly high for Brazilian standards and the temperatures are low. With such low temperatures it takes more time for the beans to mature and they develop a lot of taste. To us this might be some of the most entertaining Brazilian coffees we've tasted with hints of toffee and nectarine.

As always we ship a second option for those of you who appreciate coffee even more. Second out is the Kenyan Kibirigwi. This is a rather large Cooperative Society in Kirinaga county, near Karatina town. It has almost 7,300 registered members and 9 washing stations: Ragati, Mukango, Kiangai, Kibingoti, Thinguri, Kianjege, Chew and Kibirigwi. With all mills and producers together, Kibirigwi society produces approximately 750,000 kgs of clean coffee every year – the second largest in volume in Kirinyaga county. 72% of the production in Kirinyaga comes from smallholder farmers, who are organised in cooperative societies. They own their own wet mill infrastructure to process and dry the coffee.
