Coffee of the week - #25-16

December 14, 2016

Christmas gift to you! Second to last shipment of the year was a true gift to all our subscribers.

Every year we sort of feel obliged to ship you a bag of Christmas coffee. As we always stress, a Christmas coffee isn't necessarily something special other than a different wrapping. And some roasters might use cheap blends and milk the cow for what it's worth running up for the holidays. However it can bring some good vibes nevertheless. And this time we found a true banger for you. As soon as we found this coffee we made sure we got a piece of it.

Langøra have roasted this natural coffee from Panama and the Bouquete region. Elida Estate is a family owned farm with coffee trees growing amongst wild trees and animals. This coffee is produced under unique conditions for several reasons: first the farm is located at a very high elevation (one of the two-highest coffee farms in Panamá), it is grown in rich young volcanic soils, the temperatures are low, there is lots of fog and mist during the dry season Furthermore the coffee trees are surrounded by virgin-native cloudy rain forest, the nights get cold here thereby taking a tree from 4,5 to 5,5 years to start producing (2 or 3 years longer to produce than average), these low temperatures also extend the ripening time 1 month longer developing the distinguished cup and taste profile.

We hope you loved it as much as we do!
